Fast growing maple with brilliant red and yellow fall colour. Plant at least 7 metres away from sidewalks, driveways, or houses due to its shallow spreading root system. Grows in a variety of soil types but prefers slightly acidic and moist but well-drained locations. A sharp 'V' notch between the lobes distinguishes this maple from Silver and Sugar Maples. Strong wood is often used to make furniture and flooring.
