The largest sumac variety in North America. It grows well in a wide variety of soils except clay soils. The fall colours are what make this shrub a popular choice, ranging from bright red to yellow. It is fast growing and spreads by rhizomes and may need to be pruned back to control size. This shrub works well as a border planting where there is sufficient space to spread out. The large clustered seed pods attract a variety of wildlife into the winter months.
We also sell the Fragrant Sumac, which is shorter than Staghorn Sumac.
