Ninebark (Physocarpus opulifolius) is a fast growing and hardy shrub that tolerates a range of moisture levels (including drought once established). It captures the interest of many with attractive summer blooms and vibrant fall colors. This shrub is extremely adaptable to harsh soil conditions and is an excellent habitat for birds and smaller wildlife. Sunnier planting locations produce a higher volume of blooms.
