As this rare species is of special concern for protection in the wild, we have taken care to responsibly source our seed from cultivated stock plants that trace their original lineage to known, natural Ontario populations.

A vigorously growing herbaceous perennial that will reach seven feet tall with a four-foot spread. The above-ground portion dies back in winter like other perennial wildflowers. Plate-sized light pink blooms emerge from July to September, attracting butterflies and hummingbirds. It may take two or three years for the plant to produce flowers. Blooms last only one or two days, but this plant can produce up to 20 flowers in a day.

Rose Mallow is found naturally in marshes, swamps, and floodplains; and it prefers moist, acidic soil rich in organic matter. Full sun will assist in producing the best blooms. It is well suited for a rain garden or moist garden area. This flower is sure to be a feature attraction in your summer garden!
