Witch Hazel (Hamamelis virginiana) is a fall flowering shrub that produces bright, yellow flowers. It prefers part to full shade, but it will also produce more blooms with more sun exposure. This species may require some light pruning in the spring to keep it looking orderly. The seed dispersion of this shrub is extremely unique. Pods hold their seeds until the following year and then project them, sometimes up to 30 feet.
