Known for its beautiful fuzzy gray buds in early spring. This species of Willow (Salix discolor) is often known as Pussy Willow as the fuzzy buds resemble cat fur, and its cut branches are often used as decor. A big robust shrub that does well in moist conditions. It is one of the biggest supporters of pollinators in the larval stage, and as an early bloomer it provides food for pollinators as they emerge from their winter nests.
