A rare offering that we are very excited to bring you! Sweet Fern (Comptonia peregrina) is a truly unique aromatic mound-shaped shrub, and is the only Comptonia in the genus. Its lacy, fern-like foliage smells incredible and looks beautiful. Its leaves can be used for tea. This species requires well drained soil and prefers full sun, although it will tolerate part shade. A great stabilizer along slopes or embankments that will tolerate poor soils. This plant can spread around three feet underground through rhizomes.
