Description

The largest sumac variety in North America. It grows well in a wide variety of soils except clay soils. The fall colors are what make this shrub a popular choice, ranging from bright red to yellow. Fast growing and spreads by rhizomes and may need to be pruned back to control size. Works well as a border planting where there is sufficient space to spread out. Large clustered seed pods attract a variety of wildlife into the winter months.

We also sell the Fragrant Sumac, which is shorter than Staghorn Sumac and Winged Sumac, which is about the same mature height.
