Description
A beautiful shade tree that grows fairly quickly and can live anywhere from 250 to 500 years. Like Bur Oak, this species is fairly tolerant of some salt and air pollution, making it a good choice for urban areas. Leaves are deep green turning bright red to brown in the fall. Sandy loam soil is ideal for this tree, as well as full sunlight. Acorns are not edible.
