Description
A versatile tree that grows in a wide variety of locations and soils. Prefers moist soil in a part to full sun location. Deep tap root highlights the need to pick location well as a significant growing space is needed. Seeds are edible and can be eaten raw or cooked; they are often used in breads and pies. Many animals like squirrels rely on the sweet, high-fat nuts.
