Description
Unique plant choice with dark blue, bottle-shaped flowers in the fall that stay closed. Bumblebees are one of the only insects that can pollinate the flower by forcing their way inside.
A slow-growing but low maintenance flower that prefers cool, acidic, well-draining soils in part shade. A great addition to the border of a woodland or shade garden. The preference for moist soil makes this plant also suitable along a stream or pond.
