COVID-19

Friday, July 24th

Canada Post shipping delays have decreased significantly from around a 7 day delay to about a 4 day delay. Our packages are now shipping within 2-7 business days. This is great news, as the plants do well in a box for about 7 days, and then slowly deteriorate after that.

Should there be any issues with your plants when you receive them, we do have a 48 hour replacement or refund policy from the time your plants are delivered. Please send photos and a description of the issues to office@onplants.ca within that time period in order to receive a refund or have your plants replaced.

Canada Post is still experiencing  shipping days due to covid-19 and high shipping volumes. Once your order is shipped, you should expect your package within 3-10 business days. We are watering our plants well prior to shipment, and they are able to withstand some extra days in transit. We will send you an email with a tracking number when your order ships, and you can track the package on the Canada Post website.

We appreciate your orders and patience at this time.  We are grateful to ship you plants, and hope they bring you joy!

Canada Post is experiencing around a five day delay for orders right now. Since our packages usually take around 1-3 days to ship, it will now be taking around 3-8 days. They are processing on the weekends, so the concern about plants being held over the weekend has diminished.

The reasons for the delayed shipments is based on the significant increase in parcels volumes, combined with important safety measures like physical distancing in Canada Post plants.

We will notify you when your plants are shipped. Your patience is appreciated!

Thursday, April 9th

We are still operating and are implementing precautions to keep our employees and customers safe. We will begin to ship our trees and shrubs next week (April 14). Orders that have any perennials (flowers, grasses, or ferns) will begin to ship in early May. Current orders are estimated to ship in mid to late May. When your order is shipped, you will receive an email from us, as well as Canada Post with a tracking number. Your patience in May will be appreciated, as we have received a large number of orders. Thank you for supporting our small, growing business!

Re: Planting

Planting our perennials (flowers, grasses, and ferns) can only be done after the risk of frost is over. This is around May 24th in Southern Ontario, and later further north. Because of this, if you receive your order earlier than May 24th, you will need to take care of your plants indoors until it is safe to plant, or cover the plants outdoors when temperatures drop below zero. We will send out plant care instructions with your order.

Re: Shipping

We ship Monday to Wednesday to avoid the possibility of plants being held in the post office over the weekend. General ship times are 1-2 business days, but we have been informed that Canada Post is seeing delays of 1-2 days due to increased shipping demands. They are taking steps to limit shipping to within Canada to minimize shipping delays. We only ship within Ontario.

Canada Post has announced that they will be leaving packages at doors when they deem safe, even when card for pickup is selected. This is to protect their employees from covid-19 by limiting interaction with surfaces and paper. Please be respectful of postal workers and practice social distancing if you see someone dropping off your package.

Re: Refund Policy

Should there be any issues with your plants when you receive them, we do have a 48 hour replacement or refund policy from the time your plants are delivered. Please send photos and a description of the issues within that time period in order to receive a refund or have your plants replaced.

If you have any questions or concerns, please email office@onplants.ca

Wednesday, March 25th

To our valued customers,

We have been considered an essential business and it is with gratitude that we remain open amidst the COVID-19 crisis. We are a small business run out of a nursery close to Hamilton, Ontario and will be implementing important policies to keep our employees and customers safe and healthy.

As people are spending more time at home, and the beauty of spring emerges, the garden provides a beautiful space for relaxation, exercise, and reflection. Time in nature and in the presence of plants has been proven to relieve stress. We hope to help our customers enjoy the process of planting native plants to not only bring us beauty, but to also provide refuge for the insects, birds, and small mammals visiting our homes.

We will be following the preventative measures outlined by the federal government found here with regards to workplace practices.

Our boxes are shipped with Canada Post. Click here to read more about the policies that they are implementing to ensure the health of their customers and employees.

If you have any questions or concerns, please email office@onplants.ca

We wish you and your family safety and health.

Sincerely,

Reyna Matties
